The BJP rejected Rahul Gandhi's allegations.

These are the organisers' claims, however, and should be treated as such.
They establish what the organisers say their intention was. They do not, by themselves, settle the political question of how the act should be interpreted.
This is one of the most searched questions surrounding the controversy.
There is a dispute over this.

Therefore, it would be inaccurate to state as a fact that the BJP conducted the purification ceremony.
The more accurate description is:
Congress leaders have alleged a BJP connection, while the BJP and Dhami have denied that the party was involved.
